Dean getting dragged to Anna Milton’s wedding by because he “doesn’t get out enough. Seriously, all you do these days is go to work and watch Game of Thrones.” Dean bitching and moaning about how he’s never even met Anna Milton, and she’s Sam’s coworker and he totally does other things than watching TV and going to the garage.
Dean grudgingly wearing a tux to Anna Milton’s stupid, religious, stuffy wedding.
Dean thinking Anna Milton is kinda hot.
Dean thinking the best man is even hotter.
Dean nervously making his way down the receiving line, shaking Anna’s hand and smiling a polite ‘congratulations’ before moving onto the groom, then the maid of honour.
Dean getting to the best man and jerkily shaking his hand, cheeks splotched red as bright blue eyes smile: “Thank you for coming.”
Dean stuttering a reply and congratulating him, despite the fact that he’s not the one getting married.
Dean being seated with Sam and Jess and five other people he doesn’t know, eating his meal in silence and smiling and chuckling at all the correct points in the conversation. Dean not giving a shit about the state of organic produce in California, but looking over to the table of honour, where the best man smiles and laughs around his salad.
Dean sitting at his table for the better part of the evening, filling up on wine and food and watching as the best man dances with his sister in the place of their father. They dance to ‘It’s a Wonderful World’. Dean being transfixed by the way the best man moves.
Dean feeling pleasantly buzzed as the music starts to pick up, smiling into his glass when Anna drags her brother to the floor again, dancing with him like an idiot as she laughs uproariously. The best man laughs in a more controlled manner, but it’s beautiful. Dean ducking his head when blue eyes make contact with green, the bride nudging her partner. “Cas!”
Dean going to stand at the bar so he can get a better view of Cas. Dean trying not to think of how stupidly pathetic and stalker-ish that is. Dean clamming up when Jess, blonde curls bobbing up and down as she laughs, walks over on Cas’s arm. Dean nodding coolly when she formally introduces them, despite the red of his cheeks.
Cas and Dean talking over water. Cas making Dean laugh so hard he, unthinkingly, places his hand on the other’s leg. Cas’s cheeks turning rosy as he asks Dean to dance.
Dean and Cas dancing to ‘YMCA’. Dean and Cas dancing to ‘Back in Black’. Dean and Cas dancing to ‘Thrift Shop’ and ‘Temperature’ and ‘Like a Virgin’. Dean and Cas stumbling through a salsa and clinging to each other when the song finally changes to something slow and sweet, their bodies sweat-soaked and hot as they sway back and forth.
Dean and Cas missing the better part of dinner and dessert, and sneaking off to the hotel kitchen to stuff themselves with leftover hors d’oeuvres and wine.
